Sim without lending
Simhive works without your PC ever simming for anyone else — the app with lending paused, or just the browser. What each way costs you.
Lending is how the pool stays fast, but it is not a condition. You can sim on Simhive without your PC ever running a batch for anyone else. There are three ways, and each one costs you something different:

The app, with lending paused #
Install Simhive and join as usual, then Settings → This machine → Pause lending. From then on nothing of anyone else's runs on your PC. Your own sims still go to the pool, and off-peak they come back just as fast as anyone's: whoever sims when the pool is quiet gets all of it.
The cost is the queue at peak. When more jobs wait than the pool can run — raid night, everyone simming at once — jobs are ordered by what each member's machines gave over the last 30 days (how the score works). With lending paused yours runs down to nothing within a month, so on a busy evening your Droptimizer waits behind the members who lend. It is served, never refused, just later; a free allowance of about one Droptimizer keeps a newcomer's first sims from being stuck.
A paused app still runs your own sims on one thread of your PC, so they never wait for the pool alone. Nobody else's work runs there.
In between: lend only when it does not bother you. Simhive pauses by itself while World of Warcraft runs, a schedule can lend only at night, and fewer threads still count. Any lending at all moves you up the queue.
The browser, signed in, without a machine #
Sign in at https://simhive.app/sim with your token. While no machine of yours is connected to the pool, the page sims in your browser tab, on your computer — not on the pool. Nothing to install. The caveats:
- Much slower. Minutes where the pool takes seconds: a Droptimizer over all Mythic+ dungeons (about 120 items) took 20 minutes on a desktop CPU with 4 threads.
- Smaller sims only. A Droptimizer covers one source at a time: one raid on one difficulty, all Mythic+ dungeons, the delves, crafted gear, the world boss. Other sims take at most 40 items or points. Compare, Mythic+ routes, tank fights and upgrade tracks need the pool.
- Keep the tab open until the sim is done; your computer does all the work meanwhile.
- Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Safari cannot sim in a tab yet.
- Results wait 24 hours for a machine of yours to connect and put them in its History. Save report and Publish work from the browser meanwhile.
As soon as a machine of yours connects — even with lending paused — your sims from the page go to the pool instead. More on the browser.
As a guest #
No token at all: open the sim page and sim. Everything from the section above applies, plus:
- Results last a day and go into no History.
- No publishing.
- 20 sims an hour from one address.

Why lend anyway #
Lending costs nothing while you are not using your PC: it pauses by itself while you play, and a schedule keeps it out of your evenings. In return your own sims come first when it matters, on raid night, when everyone wants a Droptimizer at once.
